Please note: We use Release Rings to systematically roll out new features to users in a way that minimises risk. This means that new updates aren't rolled out to every user on the day they're shipped. Instead, new versions are gradually delivered to a small percentage of customers each day within our specified Release Rings. Of course, if customers report issues with the new update, we can then pause the rollout while we investigate. So, if you can't see the newest updates yet, don't worry - you'll receive them in the next few weeks.

🗺️ Territory Restrictions

You can now restrict users to only see customers within a particular territory. This works in a similar way to the existing feature, which allows restriction by Account Manager, but adds new flexibility and control.

  • The existing option (by Account Manager) is still available and is the simplest option to set up - it merely restricts any user to only seeing the accounts for which they are the Account Manager.

  • The new option (by Territory) offers new flexibility - especially when a user needs to see customers that are managed by a number of Account Managers, or where Account Managers support each other within a Territory.

For example, this new option could be used to allow users that supervise e.g. four sub-Account Managers to see the accounts of all those four Account Manager (and their own) without having access to all the Accounts in the system. This would be achieved by populating the new "Territory" field on the customer account with say the "North Territory". Then, the supervisor would have access to all accounts in the North Territory. The sub-Account Managers could be restricted in the same way (so that they can easily support each other and work as a team) or continue to see just their accounts (using the Account Manager restriction alongside the Territory restriction).

🔍 Global Search Updates

The Global Search now uses a faster searching algorithm that returns more highly targeted results. Initially the search will now return less results, which are more likely to contain the record you are looking for. Because this new search algorithm is more targeted, it's also faster!

It achieves this increase in search accuracy by initially searching the most commonly matched fields (and reducing the breadth of the search). For example when searching for a Contact record it initially only matches the contact ID, name and email address. But, don't worry, if the initial search doesn’t find what you’re looking for, and you want to broaden the search there’s either a 'View more results' button or a "Search more fields" link - both of which will broaden the search to include all fields available in relevant the search index (e.g. it will then include other fields such as the company name and the address when searching for Contact records).

The Global Search has also been updated to make navigation easier and to provide a better experience on mobile devices.

🐛 Other Fixes & Updates

  • Added ability to specify a different email signature for each document template, or to specify that a template has no signature

  • Added warnings to the UI if you're creating a very large email template or signature

  • Improved performance around retrieving and processing email templates and signatures

  • Updated the logo to be the latest version in various places throughout the product

  • Added support for importing DEAR Inventory product images

  • Added 'Create' button on parent selector search screen with support for multiple entities

  • QuickBooks Commerce ledger delivery locations now update if the address is changed

  • Renamed “Consolidate associated notes” to “Consolidate associated activity"

  • Documents now show on the Company with “Consolidate associated activity” checked

  • Added an expiry page that requires user interaction instead of forwarding you directly to the login screen. This should prevent issues where the login screen times out due to inactivity.

  • We'll now attempt to import Account Managers from DEAR Inventory based on the name of the assigned Salesperson. These users must exist in the CRM with the correct name for this to work.

  • QuickBooks Commerce's cost price system setting now supports “Buy Price” in addition to “Last Cost Price” and “Moving Average Cost”

  • Fixed a bug where the Alternative GL Account Code in Cin7 was always being set to null instead of the default

  • Fixed a bug for some Accounting Systems where stock would be subtracted from the default warehouse when placing an order even if the order was against a different warehouse

  • Improved error handling and user feedback when adding products to groups

  • Fixed mandatory Problem Pipelines not being enforced

  • Fixed a bug where checking the “Required” flag on components would cause the component to permanently disappear

  • Updated our handling of the Email Subscription flag to have an “Unknown” (null) value by default if not otherwise specified. Null values will not be updated in Mailchimp and indicate that we don't know what the correct subscription value should be.

  • Improved pricing performance for Access Dimensions

  • Fixed pagination bug in Mailchimp that prevented large amounts of activity from being imported

  • Added Magic Matrix category selection to the Quote screen

  • Removed “variations” from the default product UI

  • Fixed a bug that prevented DEAR Inventory sales history imports from resuming at the correct place if they crashed during the initial import

  • Fixed searching being broken if using the $batch endpoint (for example, due to product restrictions causing the URL to be too long)

  • Various QuickBooks Online fixes from testing and beta feedback
