Please note: We use Release Rings to systematically roll out new features to users in a way that minimises risk. This means that new updates aren't rolled out to every user on the day they're shipped. Instead, new versions are gradually delivered to a small percentage of customers each day within our specified Release Rings. Of course, if customers report issues with the new update, we can then pause the rollout while we investigate. So, if you can't see the newest updates yet, don't worry - you'll receive them in the next few weeks.

🏷️ Updated Parent Selector UX

The parent selector sounds like something users might not use too often, but that couldn't be further from the truth. While it is used for features like "change parent", it's also used to set the parent record in many other areas of the CRM. For instance, if a user creates a new Opportunity from the Global Create button, they'll need to select the parent Contact or Company for that opportunity.

In this release, the parent selector has had a significant redevelopment. Instead of a "pencil icon" that loads a search window, the parent selector now offers a much more user-friendly dropdown. This dropdown initially suggests recent records (it's pretty common to be creating an opportunity for a Company you've just been looking at), and if those recent suggestions aren't valid, then the user can quickly search for a record by name. You can also create new records from the drop-down directly where appropriate.

💳 Card Payments via Quote-to-Order Workflow

For anyone taking card payments, this new feature (when combined with the previously released features around order approval and the Customer Portal) will massively increase the efficiency of your Quote-to-Order Workflow.

Not only that, but your customers will also benefit from an enhanced and seamless experience. There's no doubt that customers will prefer entering their card details online than having to give their card details of the phone. Entering these details online is more secure, and less of an interruption than a phone call chasing for card details.

So, once Stripe integration has been configured, you will be able to specify Stripe as the expected payment method on a Quote. There's even an option to default this if you expect all or most Quotes to be paid by card. After that, send the Quote to the customer for authorisation through the Customer Portal, and they will be prompted for payment before the order is approved.

📄 Automatically Add Product Spec Sheets & Other Library Documents to your Quote

When generating a quotation (either via email or Word/PDF) you can now automatically include a table of library files to include. You can already link library files, but this new feature automatically generates a list of relevant library files that are related to the products on the Quote. So, for example, if you store your product spec sheets or health and safety information in the Library, make those files public and link them to the relevant products, then any customer receiving a Quote for those products will automatically receive links to the relevant product specifications, health and safety data sheets etc.

✏️ Greater Control Over who can Edit Notes in Activity Feed

We've added new settings that provide greater control over who can and cannot edit the notes in Activity Feed. In particular, there's a new setting that allows users to edit their own entries, and even restrict that to only editing their notes for up to 10 minutes after they're made (so the user can correct a typo they spot immediately after adding a note, but cannot change the history of what happened last month!).

Just search the settings for "Activity and Note Editing" and choose the option that best suits your team.
