Our Notes Importer makes it easy to either pull across notes from a historic system or import notes provided by a third party into the CRM. Importing this information into the CRM means that all your previous interactions with customers and prospects aren't lost.
Prerequisites
You'll need CRM Admin rights in order to follow the steps in this article
Step 1: Access the Notes Importer
To access the Notes Importer, click on Data Import underneath People & Places from the navigation menu. From there, click on the drop-down to the right of the "Create new records" button.
Step 2: Download Template
If you haven't already, you can download our Excel template which outlines what data you need to include in order to successfully transfer your notes into the CRM. Simply click the 'Download Template' button.
Step 3: Populate Template
Once you've downloaded the template, populate this spreadsheet with the notes you'd like to import.
Please note: We'll use the Sales Ledger ID to match the notes to the correct Company in your CRM. Alternatively, the Company ID can be used to match - this means you can import notes to your prospects that don't yet have a Sales Ledger set up.
Step 4: Uploading the Notes
Once you're ready, hit 'Next'. You'll then be prompted to upload your spreadsheet. You can choose to either manually search for the file on your PC or drag the file into the drag and drop area.
Once you've selected your file, proceed to upload your spreadsheet by pressing 'Next'. The importer will then upload your data into the CRM.
