We offer integration to Mailchimp, meaning you can send campaigns to customers and attract new business. Through this integration, CRM users can view the results of Email Marketing efforts without needing to log in to Mailchimp.
๐ Note: Campaigns must be created and managed directly in Mailchimp, and contacts can be tagged to associate email campaigns with CRM activities.
Prerequisites
You need to integrate Mailchimp with your CRM, see Setting up Mailchimp Integration.
Set Up Campaigns and Tag Contacts
To connect your campaigns in Access CRM with Mailchimp to get your results, follow these steps:
Create a Campaign in Access CRM: Open or create a campaign in Access CRM and add the relevant target contacts.
Tag Contacts in Mailchimp: Use the "Tag in Mailchimp" feature within the Campaign Activity Details tab in Access CRM to tag contacts. This step links the contacts in Access CRM with Mailchimp.
Build or Target the Audience in Mailchimp: In Mailchimp, use the tags created in Access CRM to build or target your audience for the email campaign.
Send the Email Campaign: Send the email campaign via Mailchimp using the tagged audience. Results will then be attributable back to the contacts in Access CRM.
Additionally, you can manually import contacts from Access CRM into Mailchimp and use tags to associate email campaigns with CRM activities.
View Mailchimp results
To view the results of Mailchimp activity, navigate to the Mailchimp page, located on the left-hand side of a Contact in the CRM.
At the campaign level, open the relevant Campaign Activity in Access CRM to review engagement metrics and ensure proper tagging for accurate results.
Any interactions that have taken place with your Mailchimp campaign are recorded here.
Ensure that contacts are properly tagged in Mailchimp to enable the recording of interactions in the CRM.
Interactions Recorded in the CRM
Email Opened: This records whether the Contact had opened the email, along with the email's description and date it was opened
Email Sent: If an email has been successfully sent to a contact, this will be recorded in the CRM
Web Hit: If a recipient clicks on a hyperlink within an email, this interaction appears in the CRM as "Web Hit", detailing the URL of this hyperlink
Email Bounced: If the email doesn't reach the Contact because the email bounced (hard or soft), this will be recorded in the CRM automatically
Unsubscribed: If a recipient hits "Unsubscribe" on your Mailchimp email, the CRM records this within the Email Subscription Status featured on the Communication page on a Contact
๐ Note: CRM does not record the โSentโ status for campaign emails sent to more than 1,000 recipients. The limitation is in place for performance and efficiency purposes, as well as to prevent hitting Mailchimp's rate limiting.
