Single Companies, or Single Site Companies provide a simple interface for Companies that have just one site/office. However, you may have some customers who have more than one office - so it's possible to convert a Company to a Company Group. Click here to read more about the differences between Single Companies and Company Groups.

In this article, we'll take a look at how to convert two single Companies into just one Company Group.

Prerequisites

  • You'll need Delete permissions in order to follow the steps in this article

Step 1: Navigate to the Single Company A

Firstly, navigate to the first Single Company you need to convert into a Company Group.

Step 2: Open Further Options Menu

Click the three dots in the top right-hand corner to access the further options menu and select 'Convert to Company Group'.

Step 3: Confirm Conversion

Click the 'Confirm' button to convert this Single Company into a Company Group.

You'll then be taken to the new Company Group where you can give the Company Group a name.

Step 4: Repeat Conversion to Company Group for Single Company B

You'll now need to convert the other Single Company into a Company Group. Once you've found the other Single Company record, click the three dots in the top right-hand corner to access the further options menu and select 'Convert to Company Group'.

Click the 'Confirm' button to convert this Single Company into a Company Group.

You'll then be taken to the new Company Group.

Step 5: Delete Duplicate Company Group & Move Children

Instead of keeping the duplicate company group that has just been created, you'll need to delete the Company Group, and move the children to the other Company Group that you created earlier.

To delete the unwanted Company Group, simply click the three dots in the top right-hand corner and select 'Delete' from the drop-down.

You'll then be asked if you wish to delete the children or move the children to another Company Group. Select the 'Move Children' option and click the pencil icon next to it to search for the correct Company Group you wish to move the children to.

Once happy with the new parent Company Group, click the 'Confirm' button.

You'll then be left with just one Company Group and the two Companies under the same Company Group. If there are more Single Companies to move under the same Company Group, simply keep repeating the steps above until all have been moved.
