Please note: this feature is in Private Preview at the moment, which means we're still making tweaks here and there to make it even better, as well as limiting the roll out to a few early adopters. It'll soon be available in Public Preview, allowing all customers to try this update for themselves.
The CRM allows you to set a Task for yourself or another User, but if you ever need to make amendments you can simply edit the Task. It's also possible to cancel the Task, removing it from all lists. You can even reopen a completed Task.
Editing Tasks permissions is controlled by the Activity & Note Editing setting found here. If you're unable to a pencil icon to edit a Task, it's likely due to the configuration of the Activity & Note Editing setting.

Editing a Task
You might find that as a Task due date gets closer, or the Task needs passing to a different User, that you need to edit a Task. There are two ways of opening the Task record - either via your Tasks list in the top right-hand corner of the CRM, or by editing the Task from the Activity feed. Once the Task is open, you can make any desired changes and have them save automatically.
Editing a Task from the Tasks List
Step 1: Navigate to the Tasks List
Selecting the tick icon in the top right-hand corner of the CRM will open your Tasks list.
From your Tasks list, select the Task to open the Task record.
Step 2: Edit your Task
Make any amendments you wish. Changes are saved automatically, and clicking out of the Task panel will close it.
To open the Task full screen, use the 'Open Record' button in the bottom right-hand corner of the Task.
Please note: once changes to a Task are saved, the old information will be overwritten and can't be restored.
Cancelling a Task
To cancel a Task, simply select 'Cancel' from the drop-down button at the bottom of the Task.
Cancelling a Task will remove all Activity entries for the Task and will make the Task inaccessible unless found in a Task Report.
Please note: a completed Task cannot be cancelled.
Reopening a Task
Step 1: Navigate to the Task
If a Task was completed Today, you can find this within the Tasks list in the top right-hand corner under the tick icon. Otherwise, head to the record the Task was for and find it within Activity.
Select the pencil icon to edit and open the Task.
Step 2: Select Reopen
Once within the Task, select 'Reopen' at the bottom.
Reopening a Task will remove the Completed entry for the Task in the Activity feed and will add a Task entry to the assigned user's Tasks list with the same original due date, unless otherwise changed.
