Default Phone Link Activity Type

Learn how to automatically pop up an activity window when calling a customer to quickly add call notes.

When on the phone to a customer, you may find yourself needing to take and log notes quickly. Enabling this system setting will automatically pop up an activity window when clicking a telephone link, so that you can type and record your call notes straight away in the right place.

Prerequisites

  • You'll need CRM Admin rights in order to follow the steps in this article

Step 1: Navigate to Settings

Select 'Settings' in the navigation menu then 'System Settings'.

Step 2: Navigate to Default Phone Link

In the search bar, type 'phone link' to find this system setting quickly.

Once you've clicked enter, you'll see a setting named Default Phone Link Activity Type. Select the drop-down to find a full list of our default activity types. Choose the default phone link activity type that you wish to use e.g. 'Made Contact'. Once selected, this setting will be saved automatically for all CRM users.

Now, when you or any other CRM users select a phone number in the CRM, the activity note popup will appear automatically using the default activity type that you chose.
