Tags are a flexible way to profile and categorise your companies and contacts in Prospect CRM. You can use them to segment your customer base, filter reports, and gain actionable insights from your data.
For example, if you run a sports-based business, you could tag contacts with the sports they're interested in, such as 'Football', 'Rugby', or 'Tennis'. You can then filter reports to show only contacts with a specific tag.
Prerequisites
For all users to be able to apply tags, you need to update the Tag Configuration in the Settings first:
From the navigation menu, go to Settings > System Settings
Search for 'tag', and switch the setting to 'All Users'.

Create a tag
To create a new tag, follow these steps.
Click the three dots in the top right-hand corner of a contact or company record, then select Set Tags.
Click Configure, then click Create a new Tag.
Choose a colour to help identify the tag, enter a name such as 'Tennis', then click Save.

Assign a tag
Once you've created your tags, you can assign them to any contact or company record. You can assign multiple tags to the same record.
Click the three dots in the top right-hand corner of the record, then select Set Tags.
Click the tag you want to assign. A tick appears to confirm it has been assigned.
The tag is now visible along the top of the contact or company record.

Use tags as report filters
You can use tags as filters within reports to analyse specific segments of your data.
Go to the reporting section in Prospect CRM.
Open the report you want to filter, such as the All Contacts report.
Add the Tag field as a filter and select the tag you want to use, such as 'Rugby'.
The report updates to show only records with that tag applied.
