CRM Product Creation allows users to create products that do not already exist within the Accounting System. This is particularly useful if you have a large catalogue of products, and they're not all set up within your Accounting System. In addition, if you sell customisable products, then this would also be useful to your business.
Prerequisites
CRM Product Creation is only available for Unleashed, Xero and Katana integrations.
You will need Product Manager permissions, or the Product Administrator role in CRM, to create products at order confirmation.
Step 1: Enable Product Creation
Firstly, you will need to enable the 'Product Creation' option in the System Settings:
In CRM, go to Settings > System Settings.
Open 'Products & Stock'.
Under the Enable Product Creation option, select 'Enable'.
Step 2: Create a new product
When Product Creation is enabled, you can create products when creating and confirming quotes.
In an open Quote, click on the downward arrow icon next to the 'Add Existing Products' button, and select 'Create New Product'.
You will then be asked to choose a product to base your new product on; search and select an existing product your new product will replicate.
Important: Ensure the selected 'based-on' product is an existing product in your Accounting or Inventory Management System to avoid errors when confirming the order.

The information from the existing product will populate for your new product. Edit the fields to suit your new product, such as 'Selling Price' and 'Cost Price'.
📌 Note: The 'Product ID' or 'SKU' must be unique.

Step 4: Click Create
Once happy with the information entered, click 'Create' and the product will be added to your Quote. When the order is confirmed, the product will be created in your Accounting System.
