Within the CRM, a Quote record will go through a series of statuses until the Quote is either confirmed or cancelled. Depending on the type of transaction, you may wish to prevent users from making changes when a Quote is in a particular status. For example, when an order has been confirmed in your accounts/ERP system, changes to the Quote record after this point will not update your accounts/ERP package. Therefore, it might be important to your business that a user is unable to edit a Quote in a Confirmed Order status.
To make edits to your Quote Statuses, you will require Prospect administration rights. If you require these, then please speak to your CRM Admin user or our Customer Services Team.
To edit your Quote Statuses, click on the cog icon in the bottom left-hand corner.
Once within the 'Settings Centre', navigate to the 'Sales' section and scroll down until you reach the 'Quote and Order Statuses' configure option.
By selecting the 'Click to Configure' link the Configure Quote Status window will open. Within this window all of your current Quote Statuses will be listed.
To determine whether a particular Quote Status can be edited or not, click on the 'Allow Edit' drop-down for the required status.
You will have three options to choose from; 'Admin', 'Yes' and 'No'. The 'Admin' option means that only users with Admin rights will be able to edit the Quote record in this particular status. 'Yes' will allow all users to be able to edit the Quote record within this particular status. Finally, 'No' will prevent any users from editing the Quote record within this particular status.
