When you first create a page in the CMS Editor, a default URL rewrite is created – for example, a page titled 'About Us' may have a URL created of /AboutUs.

You can create additional URL redirects to pages on your site. These redirects will allow multiple URLs to land on the same underlying page, referred to as a ‘Mirror’.

Redirect

You can also create a URL rewrite to send visitors to a completely different page if needed, referred to as a ‘Redirect’. For example, you may want to use /AboutUs as the main URL, but set up additional URLs of /About/ or /About-Us/ that redirect to the original one, just in case people searching for this page use one of those other URL variations.

Step 1: Manage URLs

To create a URL redirect, select 'Manage URLs' from the Home tab.

Step 2: Locate Page

On the left-hand side, choose the page you’re adding the redirect to. You can also use the ‘Find Page’ button in the top left-hand corner to search for specific pages if you can't find the page you're looking for – either by page name or CMS Menu ID.

Once you’ve selected the correct page, you'll be shown any URLs already set up for this page.

Step 3: Use Pre-formatted or Custom URLs

To set up pre-formatted URLs for use on ‘Product Detail’, ‘Product Groups’ or ‘News Article’ pages, you can choose from the drop-down for some of the example URLs, then click 'Create'.

Alternatively, create custom URL redirects using the ‘Add new record’ button. This will allow you to manually enter the In and Out URL. If you add a Mirror URL, for example, both URLs will take you to the specified page.

Step 4: Choose Mirror or Redirect

Changing the drop-down from ‘Mirror’ to ‘Redirect’ will change the type of redirect – a Mirror will load the ‘Out URL’ page without changing the URL in your browser, whereas a Redirect will change how the URL is displayed and load a new page.
