Whilst we strongly recommend integrating you Accounting/ERP/Inventory Management System, you can still import product items using our Product Import tool.

Prerequisites

  • You'll need CRM Admin rights in order to follow the steps in this article

Step 1: Download Excel Spreadsheet

You'll first need to download a copy of the Excel spreadsheet used to import your Product items.

Step 2: Go to Admin Portal

To import your Products, navigate to the Admin Portal via this link

Step 3: Navigate to Data Management

Once within the Admin Portal, scroll down until you reach the Data Management folder. Here, click on the 'Export Data' option.

Step 4: Export Data

From the record type drop-down make sure you've selected 'Product Items', then click 'Export'.

The Export will then start processing your request. You can check on its progress within the 'File Links' section.

Step 5: Download Product Items File

Once completed, you'll then be able to click on the 'Download Product Items File' link.

Depending on how many Products you already have within your system, they'll all be listed within the exported spreadsheet.

Step 6: Edit Excel Spreadsheet

You now need to start editing this spreadsheet to include your new Products. To do so, scroll down to the bottom of the list of Products and enter in the information about the Product that you wish to import. As a minimum, you'll need to give the Product an Operating Company Code, Product Item ID, Product Description and Selling Price. Please note: don't change the column titles, as these will be used by the import to know where to import this information to.

Finally, once you've entered in the information about your Product, type 'INSERT' in the 'Action' column for each new Product Item.

Step 7: Import Data

Now you've added your new Product items to the spreadsheet, we can use the import tool. Navigate back to the Admin Portal and scroll down until you reach the Data Management folder. Here, click on the 'Import Data' option.

Step 8: Browse for File

From the record type drop-down make sure you've selected 'Product Items'. Then, click 'Browse' to find your newly updated Excel file.

Step 9: Upload & Import!

Once you've selected your Excel file, click 'Upload & Import'. Your new Products will then be imported into your CRM system!
